Our Leadership

Shore has two primary groups of leaders: elders and staff.

Elders

Shore's elders are volunteer leaders who provide oversight and direction for the church at a big-picture level. The biblical metaphor used to describe them is shepherds because of their role in guiding, caring for and protecting the congregation. They do this by overseeing the affairs of the church, and through practical serving, which includes visiting and caring for those in need.

  Allan McGregor

  Allan and Jennifer have been married for over 35 years and have a daughter and son, and one granddaughter. They have been at Shore from its beginnings at Kristen School. Allan has held senior executive roles as a Director of a listed company and chief executive of others within the property industry. Currently Allan has his own property consultancy business. He has been an elder of Shore from 2005.

  Murray Dixon

  Murray has been married to Fay for 39 years. They have three married children and four (soon to be five) grandchildren. Murray has worked in retail management, advertising, and been a Corporate Cab owner/driver. He has served in various leadership roles in Baptist churches before he and Fay joined Shore in 2004.

  Tim Johnston

  Tim and his wife Marianne have three children and five grandchildren. Tim has been a Baptist pastor in Queenstown, where he led a church-plant. He currently works for Auckland Drape. Tim enjoys reading, yachting and cycling. Tim and Marianne have been at Shore since 2007.

  Malcolm Savage

  Malcolm and Biffy Savage have been at Shore since its very early days, even prior to its official launch in 1998! They have been married for 25 years and have 2 teenage daughters. They have a passion for marriage and families and regularly lead pre-marriage with engaged couples from Shore. Malcolm works in the Project Office of Air New Zealand, and Biffy is the Family Pastor at Shore.

  Mark Brunton

  Mark and Eileen Brunton have been at Shore for over 10 years. Married for 29 years, they have one son, who is studying overseas. Mark has held numerous CEO and senior executive leadership roles in the retail, food, fast-moving consumer goods, hospitality and service industries. Eileen is a school principal. Mark has a passion for worship and Eileen for supporting people who are finding life challenging.

  Reuben Munn

  Reuben and Anna Munn have been attending Shore since they were married in 2000. Reuben previously worked in public relations and since being at Shore he has held three different staff roles in the church—Associate Pastor, Teaching Pastor, and most recently, Senior Pastor. Reuben and Anna have a two year-old son, Joshua, and another baby on the way.

Staff

Our staff are paid employees who oversee some of the ministries and activities of the church. Their primary role is to equip and empower volunteers within the church to fulfil our purpose of loving God, loving each other and loving the world. We believe that everyone in our community is a pastor and minister, and our staff are simply there to mobilise the church for action.

Reuben Munn—Senior Pastor

As Senior Pastor, Reuben provides leadership over the ministries and direction of the church, in conjunction with the elders. He is the primary teacher and oversees Shore's staff and volunteer leaders.

Laura Giddey – Youth and Young Adults Pastor

Laura leads our Grapple ministry (school yrs 7-9), Shore Youth Community (school yrs 10-13) and our young adults ministry.

Biffy Savage—Family Pastor

Biffy oversees family-related ministries at Shore, including our meal-care ministry, Mainly Music, pastoral care of families and family-focussed seminars and programmes.

Carl Becker—Life Groups / Project Manager

Carl oversees Shore's Life Groups ministry and provides project management and support for various activities, events and projects run by the church.

Carolyn Franklin—Office Administrator

Carolyn administrates our church offices and is the friendly face of the church at our front desk.
