Financial Giving to Shore
Giving financially to the church is simply part of following Jesus. Just as God
asks us to honour him in our relationships, and with our time, he wants us to
honour him with our money. Of course, God wants us to use all our money in ways
that honour him, but he also asks those who follow him to contribute a portion
of their income to the needs of the local church (Acts 2:44-45; 2 Cor 8:7; 9:6-7)
We encourage people at Shore to set up a system of giving that is:
-
Intentional. We encourage people to pray and decide
on (and talk together as a family about) a percentage of your gross household
income you will contribute to Shore each year. 10% is a good benchmark, but not
a figure that is set in stone.
-
Systematic. Once you’ve decided on an annual amount,
set up a system of giving that will work for you. For some, this means giving
online through an automatic payment. For others, it means putting a cheque in the
offering each week. Whatever the system, make sure it’s one you can stick to.
-
Regular. Rather than giving sporadically, make sure
your system of giving is consistent and regular. This will help you budget, and
helps the church with financial forecasting as well.
Shore has four different giving accounts, for different purposes. You can give to
any of these accounts at any time:
General giving account number: 12-3119-0062915-00
Property fund account number: 12-3119-0062915-52
Relief fund account number: 12-3119-0062915-53
Teaching resources account number: 12-3119-0062915-01
Note: for all of these accounts, the account name is still Shore Community Church.
